This Zine contains some musings of the Povo team, including software development ideas, internal Povo structure discussions (ok, arguments), and other things we thought you might like to hear about. Grab our RSS feed and keep up to date:
We've been giving some thought to reworking some low level layers of Povo's wiki rendering system. Along the way we ran up against an impressively difficult problem in converting some "weakly typed" classes to C# generics. A more full writeup is
here, including links to help you tell us why we're missing the easy answer. (ahem.)
We've been furiously developing "real" applications for the iPhone. We were happy to hear the announcement of a formal SDK, but we're not waiting until January. We have three application bits at the moment:
- The main "Povo Client"
- A Mobile Safari Plugin to allow any web application to get GPS information (with user permission of course)
- A iPhone QR Codes (Wassat now?) decoder application, allowing you to use the camera to get bookmarks, contact info, etc.
We use the excellent
Ext JS library for the fancier bits of our user interface. We wrote an article about our modifications which you can read
here.
