| I've been going to Beaucage since I moved to Boston in 2003. The employees are always friendly and stylish, and the newly re-done decor is sassy and clean. Whether you're looking for a color, cut, or or a massage upstairs in the relaxing spa with Brad, Beaucage is tres chic, not stuffy and super expensive. They also have experts for hair extensions and the Yukka straightening-system. | |

| I've lived in Boston now for 5 years and finally found someone that I recommend to everyone looking for fantastic, quick, and flawless maintenance. Ask for Tina, and if possible, try a weekday-evening. | |

Gaslight is the newest spot for French Cuisine to hit Boston, although far from the best. The atmosphere is reminiscent of renowned Pastis in New York, close to something right off the Champs d'Elysee, but the food lacks...je ne sais quois. The pommes frites might as well have come from McDonalds, the escargots lacked a certain freshness and might as well have been baked rubber, and the flatbread pizza was something straight out of a box in the freezer section of the market. Don't get me wrong, if you want to be seen, Gaslight is the place to be, although don't bank on an intimate conversation with a lover, or even friends: the sound of everyone else's conversation resonates off of the antique mirror-laden walls. If you're traveling by cab, plan on walking a ways to find one home. Although the price is right, Bouchee on Newbury Street boasts better cuisine and overall atmosphere for the money.

| Croma is great. Fresh ingredients and a fresh atmosphere. The perfect place for a date or just a night out with friends. | |

| When I'm in the mood for Indian, and also for a dining-out atmosphere, Kashmir is the first place I think of. While the prices are not inexpensive, the food is worth the money, without the wait. Two dishes (I recommend the Chicken tikki masala and the saag paner) is plenty to feed myself and my rugby-playing boyfriend. We both leave stuffed, but in a good way. While the service is sporadic, the actual food prep time is nothing. I'm always surprised at how fast my order comes to the table. Don't forget the naan! | |

| Jeans, jeans, jeans. One of the hardest things to find when you're out and about, but have no fear, James and Jeans guy is here...or at least there, at Saks, to help you. James will be your own personal jeans consultant and spend however much time it takes to find you the perfect pair of jeans. James is the only non-commission employee at Saks Fifth Avenue, as he is there strictly as a stylist to help you, the customer. While the jeans are all designer and may cost a pretty penny, it's worth it in the end, as you will never look better in your denim! Located on the first floor or Saks, to the right of Makeup, directly across from the Mens department. Ladies, let your fellas browse while you slip into something...a little more comfortable. | |

Looking for great sushi: big rolls that you can sink your teeth into that make you full? Then don’t go to Haru located in the Prudential Center just off of Huntington Avenue. While the atmosphere is chic and modern, the sushi for which it is known was a disappointment. My friend and I had to eat 6 rolls to feel satisfied; all small and nothing out of the ordinary, even the “Specialty Roll” that rang in at $18. The Shrimp Tempora Roll wasn’t even fresh; the tempora was cold and had obviously been sitting. After paying our $80 bill we both had buyer’s remorse and wish we had gotten an entrée. The table sitting beside us had the sea bass that smelled fragrant and sweet and looked even better. We also eyed the tempora fried calamari with peanut dipping sauce, but opted for the healthier edamame app, which was lightly salted and warm, with enough for 4 people. Bottom line, if you want sushi rolls, don’t go here. My friend loves Duozo on Dartmouth; I’m a loyal fan of Symphony Sushi on Gainsborough Street. Both are within walking distance of Haru.

| Decent salon, but I prefer Lauren's across the street as it does not feel as hurried and cramped as Teke's. | |

| Neptune has some of the best oysters I've ever had! I went with someone who loves oysters, but isn't used to having such a variety, and was very impressed. All the choices topped with the fantastic cocktail sauce, full of horseradish, add a bowl (or two) of clam chowder and a crisp glass of savignon blanc and I am in heaven. On the chowder: it is made to order! Not rich and think, but more soupy and chalk-full of clams and chunks of celery and onions - my new favorite in all of New England. On the place: it's tiny, but that makes it so great. They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and put your name on the list. On the staff: everyone is friendly and full of oyster knowledge. Ask for Kari and Alex. | |

| A member of the grocery store chain, this location is tiny. While it suffices to stop in and pick up something for dinner it doesn't have the space for all the goods that you might find at a bigger store. They now have a wood burning oven and "pizza bar." You can call ahead and order your pie with your fave toppings and pick it up 15 minutes later. | |

| The food is terrible! Bottom line. While we enjoyed a good bottle of wine (or two) the concept of the stix was awful. I looked up the menu online before dinner and was so excited to try their namesake and was so disappointed when the food tasted like flavored wood! Each "stix" was supposed to have a different taste, but they all tasted the same...terrible. I took one bite of each of the 6 kinds of stix we got, hoping that the next would be better and they weren't. I wondered why the place was so empty when we got there...I left knowing why. | |
