Many people dine here for a "crack" at the lobster (look who's wearing a bib now!). Legal's offers a children's menu with standards like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and the like. Here, however, you can also offer your kids a fish platter ($8.95) or fish sticks. They're much better than Mrs. Paul's! Drinks are $1.25 extra, and comes in a great cup you can take home and use again. Kids are also kept busy with crayons and an activity coloring book.

A fun and funky new addition to the South End dining scene, Spanish menu items and decor make this Harrison Ave. location different than its neighbors. No menu items are over $14. The restaurant has a lounge area with antique couches, a long bar and two large communal tables. There is also an affiliated gourmet shop next door. The cuisine is traditional Spanish tapas, including tortilla espanola and jamon iberico. The funky decor combines early 20th century Spanish flapperism with the hip surroundings of SoWa. Service is prompt and friendly, and due to the nature of the menu, the long bar makes for a perfect place to sit & eat, in addition to the tables. The ambiance is both hip and lively.

Masa is a Southwestern restaurant with a flair (think Border Café casualness combined with more experimental, daring cuisine.) Not only a great restaurant, Masa is proud of their bustling happy hour crowd that enjoys $1 tapas as well as $5 pitchers of Sangria. Masa is known to have live entertainment from time to time and offers late brunch on the weekends. The chandeliers are an oddity in the room, and the copper bar is interesting, but it's all casual; dressing down is an acceptable custom here. Masa in Spanish means 'dough.' However, you shouldn't only be concerned about the variety that’s being kneaded in the kitchen. The dough to which I’m alluding is the amount of cash that leaves your wallet at the end of the evening. Be prepared to spend a lot (outside of happy hour) but consider the money well spent. The food is divine. Thursday night is Latin Night from 9pm to 1am with Salsa dance lessons from 10:30pm to 11:30pm. Tip: Make a reservation, even for brunch. Throughout the month of December Masa will be offering a $29 pre-fix menu. If you're just looking for a great place to lounge at night, 28 Degrees is a great venue to sit back, drink, eat and relax to the tune of the finest underground sounds and DJs. The basket of french fries is particularly tasty. From 5 to 7 on week days, they serve oysters for $1 a piece.

A Boston-based chain Legal Sea Foods offers a variety of high quality sea food. The clam chowder has been served at the last seven presidential inaugurations. Although Legal Seafoods now has an entire East Coast, it's base continues to be Boston. Legal Sea foods also ships throughout the country.

Haru, recently opened in the ground floor of the Prudential Center on Huntington Ave., has finally come to Boston. For years this speciality sushi joint has been feeding california rolls and sashimi to hungry New Yorkers and Philadelphians. Bostonians now have the freedom to swing by their latest 6,100 square foot restaurant to feast on Kabuki and salmon without buying an Amtrak ticket. Haku also decorates using local artists and a bamboo garden. However fresh their seafood might be, it comes with a price. Haku is chic and happening, but not the most filling or affordable in the market.
